South Atlantic Airmail in WWII – Gordon Eubanks, Pebble Beach, CA
The presentation will focus on Pan American Airlines in the South Atlantic going into and through World War II. There was a critical need to move men, material and mail to and from Africa, the Middle East and China. In addition there was a need to secure communications between Europe, South America and the United States. This required a consistent effective interception or censorship.
