Overrun Countries – James Mazepa – Sarasota, FL
The colorful Overrun Country series was issued to maintain high morale on the home front and show support and solidarity with the 13 countries overrun by the Axis during WW2: Poland, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Greece, Yugoslavia, Albania, Austria, Denmark, and Korea. This presentation will show usages of the ORC stamps related to the war effort.
Dr. James Mazepa, RDP, RAHF, FRPSL – University Park, FL is a retired professor of Family Psychology. He has received twelve International Large Gold or Gold Medals for his exhibits of Poland, Mexico First Issue and Colonial Central AMERICA. In 2000 he received the APS Champion of Champion Award for his Mexico First Issue and in 2017 he received the APS Champion of Champions Award for Colonial Central America. He is only one of six philatelists to have received the Champions of Champions award twice. In 2015 he was invited to sign the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists. He is the author of over 150 articles on various subjects. He has received the APS LUFF AWARD for Service to Philately, the Gold Diploma of the Polish Federation for life time contributions to Polish philately, and is an elected member of the Real Academia Hispanica de Filatelia, only the third U.S. philatelist to be elected to this group, and a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society (London). He is a National Chief Judge and International Judge and Team Leader. Jim resides in University Park, Florida, with his wife of 50+ years, Jean.
